Of course they said that when Bill Clinton fired 93 US Attorneys who were political appointees in 1993.

Replacing U.S. attorneys stretches back to Reagan
The GOP says the Clinton administration first politicized the Justice Department. But the pattern is older.

What's your point? They also said something similar yesterday

It is not unusual for a new administration to seek the dismissal of political appointees, particularly those of a different party. In March 1993, then-Atty. Gen. Janet Reno sought the resignations of U.S. attorneys appointed by President George H.W. Bush, a move that sparked intense criticism from conservative commentators.

Different presidents take different approaches.
I'm not so paranoid that I'd fire them all at once and leave us without leadership in important jobs. I'd let them serve until their replacement is nominated and confirmed.
That said, one of the rank and file folks usually serve as acting US Atty during such vacancies, and they are typically smarter and more experienced than the political types who get appointed by the president as US Attorney.
