Trump won the nomination on 2016 BECAUSE Republican voters were done with the GOP.

Well Trump probably doesn't care about that
If Trump thinks it's good for Trump to run, he will. If he thinks there is a chance DeSantis would run against him and win, he won't.
The way I see it, Trump has probably earned the right to try again, he built the current movement, flawed as it is. I'd prefer to move on from Trump, but if he's not going to do that voluntarily it's probably best to clear the field.
