Mistake coincidence for irony.

For the OP: Antonio Mendoza goes to work as the new financial analyst at the TV station....

When they talk about the politics of an issue because they don't understand the substance of it (or condescendingly think their audience won't).

Or when they politicize tragedy.

Or when they play up the racial element of a story

Or when they say "90% of scientists support global warming" but never discuss the info those scientists make their decision from

that's a start

Good point about the 90% of scientists line..

Reminds me of how for a couple of weeks every journalist would repeat the 17 national intelligence agencies all agree that the russians hacked the election.

I'm sure most of the journalists have no idea who the 17 national intelligence agencies are outside of the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc.. And why in the world would the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency or the Energy Departments Intelligence branch have any clout or independent intelligence on the question.

Takes a clear side. I hate it when journalists attack only one side and ignore and defend every action by their side. I wish we still had some expectations of impartiality.

Every morning I listen to a national radio show called America's First News with Gordon Deal. It's on from 5 am to 6 am. They have guests who are print journalists from places like WSJ, Wapo, USA Today, Politico, etc.

None of these print journalists can speak. Each sentence contains an average of 5 'ya know's and 10 'uh's.

I know there is a lot of jealousy that print journalists have toward broadcast journalists because the latter makes more money. But at least the guys on TV and radio can speak English beyond the level of a 12 year old.

Roll their eyes and make faces when a guest is speaking. This is pretty much limited to Mica B and Katie Tur on MSNBC but both of those counts should have been fired their first day on the job.

When they report bad information because they rather be first than right. You know, exactly what they shouldn't do.
