Similarly, ensuring mass health insurance coverage is not something the Constitution orders, but it certainly allows for programs like the ACA.

My originalism just had a stroke.

As my man Lysander put it so well so long ago, "Whether the Constitution be one thing, or another - this much is certain: it has either allowed for such a government that we have, or has been powerless to stop it."

That logic is so fricking stupid I'm not even laughing at you.

Well, actually that's a lie.

By all means then enlighten us on what you were referring to good sir!

A multitude of things. Some of which do not include race. Including: are Democrats or Republicans more likely to receive welfare in the Southern states you mentioned?

You didn't care so much you've posted twice.

You don't have to care enough to give until it hurts. I don't expect you to do so. I would appreciate you stop virtue signaling without any real action though. It's very unbecoming.

You want others to finance your feelings. Nah. Frick that.

I'm a liberal. Hope is my cross to bare.

They have no incentive to act in such a way.
Clearly... Local congressional elections in districts consisting almost all of one party is destroying our democracy.

Assuming you are close to my age, you better bet that neither one of us will see a dime of our SS contributions and we shall certainly never have Medicare.
If that happens then the system has failed us truly. I have to believe that our politicians' inner-patriot will awaken someday and they will work together on a solution.

Think of all the lives you could change!
I guess you just don't care enough.
It's ok. I'm sure other liberals are more charitable than you.

My advice: hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Take charge and control your own life and try to minimize the extent that external (especially governmental) factors can affect your livelihood.

As an originalist you don't believe the federal government has the power to pass a tax?

Ohhh the system is a failure.

I'm already prepared to pay my own healthcare out of pocket

Actually it's pretty easy because it's stupid.

You can't promote marriage and child credits unless you're helping to fund married couples with children?

You can't argue for a stronger military unless you've served?

I can't bitch about LSU football unless I've played for or coached them?

Other than annual physicals and dentist trips, I have no use for insurance. I pay my GP and dentist in cash (dat discount), and have an emergency medical fund in the case of a disaster that I contribute to each month. I would much rather haggle with the service provider than let Wanda in billing frick me over with BCBS.

No one would confuse you for a football player. That, I'd wager large sums on.

Anyway, you are getting way off base and you know it.

Just stop virtue signaling. You can advocate for whatever you want. Just understand that we know you don't really care and aren't serious enough to do anything significant on your own. You want your feelings financed by others. No big deal. Just own it.

Well those are all shitty examples. I'll take your last one and rework it.

Guy: I'm a huge LSU fan.
Guy 2: Really?
Guy: The biggest.
Guy 2: Do you have any LSU apparel?
Guy: Neaux.
Guy 2: Did you donate to the TAF?
Guy: Neaux
Guy 2: Do you go to the games?
Guy: Neaux. But I'm a huge fan. Love the Tigers with everything I have.

You can do any of that. The impact of it is certainly lessened because you are just giving words at that point.

A big problem arises when you pretend that your position is more correct, despite what I'd say is a pretty significant lack of conviction.

Same here.

I buy a blood test once ($90) per year just to make sure everything is looking good.

I donate to a clinic for a yearly physical ($50).

Pocket all else, except that damn no insurance tax fine.

Serious question. What are your plans, God forbid, that you get seriously injured in some sort of accident?

No flame or troll. Just curious how someone in your position with your strategy has planned for that contingency.
