Jabbar has some pretty unique perspectives on race relations. His size and athletic skills earned him special treatment during a transitional period in race relations. He saw and experienced the difference between words and acts. His comments regarding Sterling are very interesting, and demonstrate a level of understanding and tolerance that many Americans are not demonstrating. His comments regarding the conduct of the ex-girlfriend are something that more Americans should pay heed to.

The fact that you refer to him Lew shows that you really don't respect him, despite what you're trying to imply with the thread title.

Lighten up, Francis.

Perhaps it merely implies that I've seen "Coming to America" many times and enjoyed the barber shop banter regarding Cassius Clay.

And truth be told ... I never really did like KAJ much when he played in the NBA ... mainly because I rooted for the Celtics during that era.

Mitt Romney hasn't cut anyone's hair or put his dog on top of a car in 40 years either, but that didnt matter did it?

Is this supposed to make sense?

Yes, I was agreeing with you that things that happened 40 years ago shouldn't matter

2006: U.S. Dept. of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination. Allegedly, he said, “Black tenants smell and attract vermin.”
2009: He reportedly paid $2.73 million in a Justice Dept. suit alleging he discriminated against blacks, Hispanics, and families with children in his rentals. (He also had to pay an additional nearly $5 million in attorneys fees and costs due to his counsel’s “sometimes outrageous conduct.”)

2009: Clippers executive (and one of the greatest NBA players in history) sued for employment discrimination based on age and race.
Just goes to show how stupid and hypocritical the NAACP really is. Well at least the Los Angeles branch.

That's why the national chapter is on TV slamming them.
