Socially Democrat
Fiscally whatever isn't stupid

SPAC/PAC Corporate contributions all of em need to go. The United States of America should not be beholden to any thing/person/groups: ideology, views, or influences outside of its citizens wishes, as implemented by free democratic vote.

You failed to address the point that direct corporate donations to political campaigns are already illegal.

The problem is that the body that upholds it, the Federal Election Commission, has a six-member board that has three members from each party and therefore is totally gridlocked.

In other words, it was a political reform that was built to fail.

Citizens United was one of the most convoluted, non-sensical, Supreme Court opinions ever.

No i didn't. I believe abolishing superpacs and lobbying takes care of all that.

Yes, it was engineered by Nixon and Powell

No.

A corporation is formed by charter issued by the state. In the past these charters stated the goals of the corporations (building bridges, roads, etc...), currently the state accepts increasing shareholder value as the sole outcome of the charter. Perhaps this is where we could change the nature of corporations.

For the record, I don't see corporations as persons.

People are persons, speech is speech, and money is money IMO.

Money in and of itself is not speech. It is the use of said money as a form of expressing one's views and opinions that makes it speech. It is a tool for providing speech.

Buying legislators with money isn't speech, it's graft.
