It's about the illusion of safety. Like oxygen on an airplane.

Um.... p100 particulate respirators are the only ones proven to filter virions.

Not that cloth fricking joke of a mask. That's his obvious point that you missed.

The larger the particulate the less robust mask you should need.

We're all being scammed by Big Mask. This corporate charade is just so they can get rich selling their worthless masks to everyone, and the Mask Lobby in DC ensures politicians go along with the plan by making the masks mandatory, kind of like the Insurance scam known as Obamacare. Plus, they want to defeat OMB.

It is incredulous how poor some peoples critical thinking skills are.

I mean seriously you made a very minor witty post and it flew over 11 peoples heads at the time of my reply.

There is a serious difference between a respirator and a mask. Stupid analogy. But, hey, you got enough votes to make a world of difference.

The difference is masks don't filter virions. At all.

Every single ear loop mask has a disclaimer that says "does not prevent the spread of coronavirus". Only a sealed respirator does so, which even hospital nursing staffs don't use. You have to be fitted and clean shaven (men) to be properly fitted.

So is anyone going to tell me that a full cartridge respirator or a SCBA unit that completely, 100% seals off the nose and mouth against airborne particles both large and miniscule, is less effective than an ear loop piece of cloth? Put on a cloth mask and then a pair of glasses... watch your glasses fog up from all the air escaping from around your nose/eyes area. That's really stopping microscopic, viral airborne particles???

No.

The whole thing is bullshite.

The mask isn't for your protection it is to restrict your spit/phlegm from contacting others (protection of others). The mask isn't a 100% blocker but it lessens the amount and distance. All the Far Eastern countries that have had some success in containing and maintaining a lower infection rate have had broad mask compliance.

I may be completely wrong but the other mask protect you from the air that your breathing in. The cloth mask prevents the aerosolization of the virus for protection of other people. To me it's apples and oranges.

What about when you touch the mask then touch the avocado that someone else touches?

Is the mask compliance causative or correlative to the lower infection rate?
