Let's say Kennedy steps down, and Roe v. Wade gets overturned.

What does America actually gain from this?

I mean is God himself going to appear and say thanks?

Probably not, in reality we'll have a shitload more children from people who shouldn't have them and then the ridiculous stories of people dying from shitty abortion attempts, and of course people going to jail. It creates more bullshite than it removes.

As far as America becoming a better place, I see a net loss due to more shitty parents in the fold, a stronger welfare state, and just more trouble than it's worth.

Of course you hardliners will tell me I'm ok with killing babies, etc.

Honestly, I just don't give a shite.

There are far more important things for me to worry about than telling Mary Jane Rottencrotch, who got pregnant because Little Dick Jim left it in too long, if she should be able to have an abortion or not.

Abort it, put it up for adoption, raise it. It's on Mary Jane Rottencrotch and Little Dick Jim to decide.

Not me and not the government.

It will revert to the states to determine if abortion is legal or not.

We could also get rid of subsidies for ghetto queens. Get a fricking job.

The generational slavery of liberalism has got to stop.

Roe v wade is not going to be overturned.

The mouth breathers hoping and believing this will happen have no comprehension how ingrained that decision is in scotus jurisprudence.

They may ultimately allow some of the roadblocks to access such as those proposed in Texas, but roe v wade is and will be the law of the land

They've never even tried to overturn it. It's just been a hollow talking point for the last 40 years.

Like a lot of other issues, politicians only care about the ones that fatten their own wallets.

Cases just don't "get abolished"

Before the Supreme Court could overturn RvW they'd actually have to hear a case concerning it.

In order to hear a case concerning it a case in the lower courts would have to be brought and work it's way up the Supreme Court.

Or, maybe people become more careful when the consequences of actuons are a reality instead of you dipshits saying "yeah do whatever you want, nothing will happen!". If they get pregnant, they can just kill the kid. If they have the kid, we give them cash for a couple decades. You don't think that has a long term effect of their behavior?

So fricking true. People are just wishfully hoping. Obergefell is no different. Both of those are two big to put the lid back on once they were opened.

With that said, you will probably see many, many more regulations of both approved moving forward, but the court will say stare decisis and let the original decision stand.

Hm. Interesting. What bill was that, and when was it signed into law?

Slavery was also ingrained in jurisprudence for centuries on this continent. That got overturned.

Yep, people will absolutely stop making poor choices because of a government mandate.

That makes perfect sense.

There are people right now trying to find the perfect case that will do just that. Given enough time and a strong enough conservative majority it will happen. Will abortion be outlawed nationwide? Most likely not. But it will be outlawed in several states, and a Sessions or someone like him as AG would do his best to make things difficult for the others.

Who said anything about a mandate, and what mandate would that be?

Well, thanks for the civics lesson. I wasn't fully sure how the Supreme Court worked. I guess I just assumed that if Kennedy hung it up metal coat hangers became useful again.

I changed it to overturned.

Are your panties fully removed from your arse crack now?

If the SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade it would absolutely be a mandate.

And the lot of you would celebrate it as a win for America.

I'm just not sure that's the case here. I think its best to remain a personal decision, not a governmental one.

How about you have a little personal responsibility and STFU. People who shouldn't be having children are having them because they get a nice fat check, so that's a stupid fricking reason. And besides, it could have been overturned a few times since then and it hasn't happened. You liberals get all worried about something stupid like mulligans.........I mean abortions.

What delusional bullshite are you on the chance of Roe vs. Wade is zero. It is the same paranoia with conservatives during a liberal administration concerning the 2nd Amendment. Both sides know these items will not be overturned ,but use it as an agenda item to fire up the base and single issue voters.
