Let's pretend your Randall Stephenson (AT&T CEO), do you really want Time Warner?

I realize that TW has hundreds of channels/media interests but if you're AT&T (who is waiting on SEC/regulators approval to purchase TW) do you really want to get involved with this CNN political BS?

I guess if AT&T gets the nod for the deal they could tell Zucker adios and let the rest of the fricks know that from this point forward we only do hard news, your Dim shilling days are over.

If that happens I don't think it hurts AT&T but if they let CNN continue in their current programming format I could see T getting involved in a lot of public opinion BS and possibly boycotts.

Just think, for the price $107 billion, you too can take a predominantly non political company that delivers wireless and fixed line network access to millions of people potentially into the world of front line politics.

Randall needs to call Trump and throw the pitch, "Mr. President, Zucker's out if your baws ok the deal".

State department doesn't need to let this go through.

The entire point of anti trust laws was too stop monopolies from forming and hurting competition.

It's happening in every facet of our business world.

AT&T is doing a preemptive merger, they know that their competitors are also heading down this road so I don't fault AT&T for making the bid. If the deal goes through Randall would be wise to clean this "fake news" BS up ASAP!

I really don't think CNN's politics are pretty much irrelevant regarding the value of this deal.

With HBO, all of the tuner chancels, and Warner Brothers, CNN is just a small piece of the puzzle, and their politics a small piece of that.

See the thread I started. According to the Post article, the execs who will decide who stays and who goes have a good relationship with Trump.

State Dept has nothing to do with this deal.FCC and to
Some extent the FTC are the govt agencies involved in
this approval.

Doesn't matter it's a done deal anyway. Was down at Turner today and involved in a deal directly tied to
The merger.

Probably not, but CNN has become a joke and overly political. If the country continues to swing back towards middle right CNN could cause a lot of headaches for AT&T with their leftist/globalist slant. If people start the boycott chatter AT&T will not want to be tied to that.

I don't think people what products and divisions are part of many of these types of companies. I mean I bet most people think Time Warner Cable (at least before the name change) was Part of Time Warner.

Full disclosure, I'm just hoping Stephenson cleans house at CNN so shareholder don't have to worry about needless political BS with a failing news channel.

O'Keefe exposures don't happen to organizations on the up and up. Their brand is literally in the process of being even more damaged than it was a week ago.

I think people like Cooper, Tapper, and King (for his genius election mapping) would be safe. Others not so much.

it primarily involves the FCC part of the deal and frequency allocations and acquisitions.

You do business with em?

I just don't think it will that impactful, expecially for the leftists and/or the people who don't follow politics closely.

The folks on camera are doing what they're told, it's the front office that needs to be purged.

I like it when we agree, it's not often.
