Is Lady Gaga to full of herself or her beliefs to NOT make a statement? Unless the NFL made her sign some ironclad contract I just can't believe she will not use the largest stage in the her lifetime and not make a political statement.

She doesn't need to talk about it, she could dress about it. She has the capability to make a statement with her appearance. I wouldn't like that, but I would love for her to stick it to the NFL just because.

At least I didn't use "irregardless".

"The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together," the NFL's statement continues. "Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this."

Methinks this is the proper translation:

quote:

"We've come to the conclusion that all of our progressive bullshite over the past few years has come to a head, and allowing Lady Gaga to talk shite about Trump and his voters during one of the most highly-televised events in the world will be the final nail in the coffin for our regular viewership."

Gaga's personal opinions on the election have hardly been a mystery. The 30-year-old pop star had been a prominent supporter of Hillary Clinton and was photographed holding a "Love Trumps Hate" sign outside New York's Trump Tower following the election results.
She apparently wore a dress made of meat to protest something else a few years back. I would say she is somewhat of an activist.

I think the NFL is getting the picture that the people that watch football don't give a frick about these people's opinions or their SJW bullshite.

Yup. I hate the NFL. I like the football OK (but prefer college), but I hate the way it is run.

She's probably going to come out wearing a chimpanzee as a bra, with a giant blond toupee on its head.

I remember that, but I've seen a bunch of public appearances and didn't recall her seeming obnoxious.

This is the same way your Queen Clinton has used the term, but she really means "couldn't care less"

I'm sure that's standard for most halftime contracts.

NFL rep states this is not true; that they never demanded this of her:
quote:

UPDATE: This post has been updated to include a response from the NFL. The original story was published on Jan. 17 at 12:44 p.m. PT.

A rep for the NFL calls this "nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none."

It's a poorly written article, but it is stating that the NFL is allowing her to bring politics where it doesn't fricking belong if she so chooses (which I would be shocked if she didn't).

This is why I have lost nearly all interest in football this year. Outside of Saints and Steelers, I watched practically nothing. I'm over this shite being forcefed down my gullet

I don't really keep up with the Hollywood news(saw the article on Drudge) or know a lot about her in general. I just think at this point in American politics, those on the left, especially "stars", cannot keep their mouths shut. I may be completely off base but I guess we will find out in a few weeks.
