Perhaps he isn't a hypocrite. I haven't heard him speak out against adulterers.

That's kind of the point isn't it then.

Sen. Larry"WideStance"Craig was a malignant antigay SOB who was hypocritical as hell. Maybe this guy is a hypocrite as well. But the mere fact he's trying to promote traditional values, if that's the extent of it, does not rise to that level IMO

Why is it only Republicans caught doing this shite are labeled "hypocrites"? Am I missing something because I've yet to see a Democrat run on the pro screwing around on your wife platform?

frick this McAllister guy, by the way. I don't know anything about him, other than this makes him seem like a complete sleazebag, but my point is not really about him.

I'm not the religious type, so if this was supposed to be sarcastic you should target your efforts at someone else.

He should've got a BJ in the Capitol ... then, as we all know ... it'd be no big deal whatsoever.

Unless the Oval Office is the only approved Cheatin' Zone.

While people like John Edwards and Bill Clinton are tremendous creeps and scumbags, they didnt run on a platform espousing family/conservative values. They left that stuff out entirely when they were running. I wish more Republicans would run on actual issues and not this family value single-issue crap.

I'm a Republican. You seem to suggest I am OK with Clinton.

You're right. As far as we know, he's only a fraud. File under SHOCKING. And the hell with the bathroom foot-tapper, too. For the life of me, I don't know what the correlation is between having a family and being a trustworthy and competent steward of the will of the people one is meant to represent. I wish all of the rhetoric would go away.

ETA John Edwards.. What a complete an utter shite-bag. These career politicians are all scum. America gets what it deserves, I'm afraid.

So what would make this board angrier:

1) a gay man in a committed relationship being a Louisiana congressman, or

2) a straight man cheating on his wife being a congressman.

He's already fessed up and apologized.

He's looks slightly better than most who deny first.

Still a douche that should quit and get kicked in the nuts multiple times.

No they didn't.

So poverty in this country is a direct correlate to out-of-wedlock births.
What did Edwards and Clinton do to attack that problem?

Does the fact of an affair negate any ability to promote social messaging which could lead to a step out of poverty?

That is what you're claiming.

Acknowledging that you have a fricking family isn't the same thing as a family values platform. The latter is all a bunch of pandering bullshite about returning to "traditional" values such as marriage between a man and a woman, our Judeo-Christian roots, etc etc. It's appealing to all the single issue voters who think gay marriage is ruining the country.
