Actually I don't. That is why I owned your arse when you falsely claimed Trump won the educated vote. Now pick up your half eaten hamburger bun off the floor, clean that filthy place up, and get some exercise.

This is the problem with the whole "we are the educated" vote meme.

Republicans have ALWAYS dominated the brackets that make decent money, not just the rich. Every now and then they'll lose there, but, it's their bread and butter.

Meanwhile, Democrats have ALWAYS dominated the lower brackets. ALWAYS.

So, to believe the liberal meme, you somehow have to come to the conclusion that there is no relation between between being educated and being financially at least somewhat successful.

Moreover, you have to somehow conclude that Republicans dominate the white college vote on welfare.

I would consider Trump's +36 point margin on uneducated whites pretty wide. Oops.

Hmm. Do you have a link to me claiming he won the educated vote?

Me thinks you've devolved into lying to avoid how badly you've been owned.

Go hang out with the losers who voted for Hillary by a 12 point margin. Yeah. Keep ignoring that fact. Won't make it less true.

LOL. That's just sad. Now you're going to pretend that the lifted part of my post you selected wasn't talking about income brackets.

Damn man. You're embarrassing yourself.

The fact that you would point to these is both laughable and sad. If you really equate a college degree with success, you and I have very different perceptions.

My MBA is from a top 20 program. In that program, I knew lots of people who finished with a 4.0 that I would not hire to balance my checkbook. I was sent to several events to represent the school at gatherings of leaders from other Top 20 programs. I had the same perception of a lot of these people.

Why? Because getting a degree (for many disciplines) is just a matter of connecting the dots and coloring inside the lines. There really is not that much thinking involved. You read the books, do the projects, and take the tests. A few years later (in your estimation) you are now "educated" and a success. bullshite.

Getting a degree is not success. Doing something with it is, and the demographics are pretty clear regarding the voting patterns of people who have been successful with applying their degrees. You may not like it, but income is the single best indicator of "success". It's not perfect, but it is better than anything else I have seen.

Agreed.

There are far too many people in the US who equate credentialing with education.

College degree does not equal successful.

Some dude with a gender studies degree working at Starbucks is not more successful than a guy who went to vo-tech that owns his own welding shop.

Or even a factory or oilfield worker making 6 figures.

To be honest, it was intended as a joke. Trump won a surprisingly diverse group. Majority white...but certainly not just a confederacy of deplorables. There was some legit reason why Trump won and I regularly advocate this position with my liberal friends.

However, if someone is gonna come at me with blood coming out of their... whatever...I am going to frick with them.

No one metric equals successful. I was attacking his attempt to generalize "All successful people voted Trump" because he won over 50k income. Both arguments are equally ridiculous on their own. I was just having some fun.

Uneducated? Do you mean college educated?

Because I'm not college educated. But I'm educated beyond most college educated employees we have.

I still spend 5+ hours a week on educating myself (at least).

You should never equate college education with being educated.

There are 300k baristas and wait staff who have bachelor's degrees.

Most of whom are in massive debt.

Meanwhile, the electrician, plumber, contractor, etc who built their place of employment are successful. And most likely Trump supporters.

Who's "smarter"?

College is seen more and more as what it really is (outside STEM degrees).

One big fricking scam perpetuated by a government who makes billions off of it.

There is no one metric for "success". While having a bit of fun with the Princess, that is the point I was making. He chose to cherry pick "over 50k income" as the definitive evidence of success. Well, if I made 50k a year they would have to come take my house and car. All things are relative and there are a number of factors that go into how much income someone makes. I presented an equal fallacy to illustrate the fallacy of his cherry pick. Apparently you agree

You also have to be careful of the "has a liberal arts degree so obviously just works at starbucks" assumption in the other direction.

As an example, I have a BA in Political Science and Philosophy, and a MA in Public Affairs/Political Science. Why? I find those subjects intellectually interesting. My electives for the above degrees were C and Java programming, took Engineering Physics, and also took three semesters of Calculus.

My current profession? Cyber/InfoSec Analyst. I'll let you figure out the kind of cash I'm raking in right now But I'm still a "liberal arts major."
