I agree...

What's this all about? I don't remember any of my teacher ever coming visit my folks in grade school. Open house was for the teachers to meet the folks but at the school.

You have Kevlar?

Like y'all hated each other? Hate is a choice. Marriage isn't always about the feels and whims of the people in it.

I had to do them when I was at a KIPP school a few years ago. You just go to their house and introduce yourself, meet the kid usually and hopefully get the parents to see the teacher as an ally. The goal is to form a partnership with the family of the student. They aren't bad.

I'm one of the only white teachers at my school, but I see that as a positive. The kids need to be around professionals who look like them so they can see themselves as being professional someday. But having a white teacher isn't a bad thing either.

Me and the old lady are making margaritas, about to start our weekend right with Deputies Lawrence and Mastrianni on Live PD.

Kind of a required thing living in Columbia, SC.

You brought them up, friend. I'm not a fan of divorce or immature parents.

I feel you on all that.... you're doing gods work.

If I could go back and money was never an issue, I'd no doubt be a teacher to disadvantaged youths. People look at me funny for saying that but most people that know me well say that was probably my calling. I relate really well to kids.

Good for you

You don't just show up unannounced do you?

You do you. You can't expect everyone to bless your choices.
