Kayla Moore, the chief justice’s wife, confirmed the interview in an email, saying it took place Tuesday.

“He would consider it an honor if appointed to the office of U. S. Senate,” she wrote.

Oh sweet Baby Jesus that would create a hall of fame level meltdown.

Well at least the melt would have some actual legitimacy to it.

I don't think he's close to the right person to take Sessions' seat, but it might just be worth it for the melt alone.

But surely they can find someone better.

are meltdowns the primary outcome we are seeking from the political process these days?

Yes, please hitch your wagons to Roy Moore. He's the Right's version of Lena Dunham.

Indeed.

Roy Moore would be a really bad pick. Are you telling me that Roy Moore is the most qualified Republican in the state of Alabama to take this Senate seat? Really?

OP should update title to "Suspended Judge Roy Moore..."

This type of rhetoric is not necessary at a time where we are all worried about the possibility of Guam capsizing due to overpopulation.

Trump's politics are eminently more palatable than Roy Moore's. I have no doubt Moore is popular in Alabama, but the GOP, Donald Trump included, wants no part of his religious zealotry on the national stage.
