Huntsman knows China really well and has a good working relationship with them and plus he's moderate and pragmatic unlike neocon assholes like Bolton and Abrams.
And apparently this may be done to prevent a primary challenge to Orrin Hatch.

I LOVE Huntsman. Should have been GOP nominee in 2012.

Jon Hunstman would be a fantastic Senator. He was a very popular governor in Utah, and he did his duty and served when asked by Obama to be Ambassador to China.
I'm a Huntsman fan. Most of this board hates him because he worked for Obama.
