JOHNSON on border: “Well, listen, we want the border to be a part of every single thing we do here, but it’s just a matter of math. I just don’t have the votes. If I put Ukraine in any package, it can't also be with border because I lose Republican votes on that rule.” Me: “we get that.” Johnson: “well my friends don’t get that”

I would think as a leader, he would put the border in everything and lead his Republican troops to victory.

How? You've got Republicans resigning from Congress in an attempt to sabotage a potential Trump presidency, 8 months in advance.

And this isn't a defense of Johnson. I live in his district, voted for him, and I think he has done a shite job. I'm just curious how you lead a bunch of cowards with TDS who would rather cozy up with democrats.

The thing is we don't need "the border" unless "the border" means forcing Biden to close it.

I’m sure he would like to do that but, sadly, a lot of Republicans don’t really want to fix the border.

Remember that Republican majority that refused to build the wall? Well, Paul Ryan may be gone but a lot of other bad Republicans are still there on the Hill.

We’ve gotten rid of a lot of them but there’s still more to purge.

How about the border in every package and Ukraine funding.... not at all? Every single time.

I hope you are not voting for him this time. I am at the point that I would rather have a Democrat/Communist who says he is a Democrat/Communist, rather than a Democrat who says he is a Republican.

While some structural reform legislation is warranted for the long term, we don’t really “need” border legislation in the short term. Biden and the pieces of shite in his administration can simply revert to the policies of the Trump era to dramatically reduce the flow. Don’t buy the lies Biden is trying to sell.

Johnson has a one vote majority.

If you don't think that hamstrings him there is nothing that will change your mind.

Nothing about the border needs to be added to any bill. The border crisis was created by Biden’s immediate reversal of the previous administration. Joe Biden has the complete authority to change this crisis today.

No additional monies to any foreign nation until our own nation is secure and prospering.

Johnson has turned into a bad comedy sketch.

He.

Does.

Not.

Have.

The.

Votes.

A significant number of his troops are Fifth Columnists who are actively sabotaging things since it is such a small margin for control of the House.

They can threaten to either caucus with the Dems or retire in a way that a Dem takes their seat or the seat can’t be filled before the election in order to throw control.

I say to make it through this election season then destroy anyone pulling this shite because they clearly don’t need to be there.

He gave away any leverage he had by passing the mini omnibus.

Should have been a barebones bill to keep the government running.

I don't think they're democrats. I think they're Rockefeller Republicans that only talk conservatism at election time, not because they believe it, but because they can't win without conservative votes.

See prior comment, re: lacking votes to do so.

I don't understand what you guys don't understand about the fact that there are numerous "moderate" Republicans in the caucus that undermine his ability to play hardball. They'll vote with Democrats on these spending and aid bills.

That is fatal to truly conservative legislation with what amounts to a 1 vote majority in the House.

A true Republican leader CANNOT get the RINO's to follow. The best that leader can do is expose the RINO's.

That is what is being done.
