I'm cautiously optimistic and really pleased to see so many Louisiana republicans appear to not be making the same mistake they did with JBE/VItter and learned their lesson from that debacle after a year of reflection.
It's damn near impossible to trust a democrat anywhere with your money and while Vitter may not have been perfect, he was hundreds of light years better than a tax and spend liberal like JBE.

With the budget situation JBE faced last year, what does a Vitter administration do in an alternate universe?
I understand you like the optics of a tax and spend liberal, but what does Vitter do without raising taxes? Give us the cuts you would have preferred Vitter to make if he's staying revenue neutral...

Over 2 Billion dollars in new taxes were raised to augment NEW spending, not to correct the budget problem.
Without having to pay off New Orleans politicians, the cuts could have come from city budgets rather than state taxes. How many deputy mayors does Mitch need?
