I didn't hate the guy at all. He had a tough job but let's be honest, there were plenty of times where he his defense of Trump made him look like an absolute fool. Lord would have some really flimsy attempts at spinning.

Lord was only on there to be their punching bag anyway because he wasn't very good at defending Trump. He tried hard but usually came off looking like the dummy they wanted him to be.

well MM attacks speech they don't like and tries to silence opposing views

now you can say they're private and not the government and i get it, but they want censorship over the free flow of information. it's just easier/more efficient to say they want to suppress free speech

the fact that JL got fired for this is amazing to me. progs have been calling everything under the sun "Nazis" or "fascist" for 10+ months and JL does it back and he gets fired? the frick?

ok

that's the same thing that happens here. Do you think the TD.com poli board tries to suppress free speech?

pointing out right wing media lies is not "promoting censorship"

there is a lot related to management of this board i don't approve of

for instance, i frequently RA inflammatory (often towards liberals) posts and it doesn't ever seem to do anything

quote:

they engage in operations to attack media outlets to get them off the air, through various means

if you don't agree with something, say it

if you think something is a lie, respond with the truth

the improper response is to promote silencing that person/outlet

But for a communication tool like Twitter, people don't catch things like sarcasm, hyperbole, etc. very well.

And in this case, since the article posted provided the context to make his response more understandable, the title of the article said MMF (mocking media matters), so I had no idea what it was referring to until I read the article.

But his response was front and center before and after I read the article, so knowing a not of people probably don't read an article to get context, or wouldn't understand his response even with the context, it was ridiculously stupid in his part.

Ironically he was too stupid to know that people are too stupid to not realize he's actually supporting the Nazis.

He also said Trump is the MLK of healthcare.

He has said some really stupid things.

We are a country of free speech, but it doesn't mean he should be employed or a contributor for any news network.

i just hope CNN fires every contributor who compares anything to being Nazis or fascists, so it's all equal

i'm legit more curious who actually believes he was being pro-Nazi or who is just pandering with a legitimately stupid talking point

this sounds like one of those "liberal mind reading" moments where they use their magical abilities to know it's stupid and nobody is really offended, but getting a scalp on the wall matters more than honesty or displaying intelligence levels above potato

I'm going to guess not an insignificant number.

Unless one knows about his ongoing criticisms with Media Matters, and realized the MMF referred to them and/or that Carusone is with them, then it's not obvious by looking at the tweets up until he clarified that he was actually doing it to mock.

He was fine when he was just outright calling them fascists, but when you make a tweet like that, he should how asked himself:

1. Will people probably think this is support for the Nazis?

2. Will a person with no background knowledge be able to get enough context right away to see that it's facetious?
