Thoughts? I love his Christian and conservative values.

Well, he started campaigning for gov as soon as he won the AG job, so we know it’s coming.
His confrontational attitude (for no good reason) rubs me wrong. I’d sure hate to have to vote for JBE again.

He struck a deal with Kennedy to stay out of the governor’s race. He will run for re-election for AG, and Kennedy will run for governor. If Kennedy wins, he will appoint Landry to his Senate seat.

Great. We get a Cajun Roy Moore in the Senate.

quote:
In November, nine days after a hotly contested primary for Louisiana attorney general, challenger Jeff Landry secured the coveted endorsement of the third-place finisher in the race, Geri Broussard Baloney, for the runoff.
...Baloney, a black Democrat, had hauled in 18 percent of the vote, more than the No. 4 and 5 finishers combined. If her supporters all voted for Landry, who took 33 percent, it would be enough to put him over the top and dethrone the incumbent ... As it happens, that’s how it went down; Landry won going away.
And a couple of months after taking office, Landry hired Baloney’s daughter, Quendi, looking past her criminal record in doing so and giving her a position in the office’s fraud section at a salary of $53,000 a year.
Ironically, Quendi Baloney had been charged with 11 felony counts of credit card fraud and theft in 1999. She wound up pleading guilty to three of them, according to Henrico County, Virginia, court records.

The governor of Louisiana is practically a totalitarian dictator with massive leverage over every elected official within the borders of the state.
Also, there are many licensing and tax credit programs that require governor approval to get, so yeah, basically all economic activity requires a bribe theough the governor’s office to go forward. Unreal power and corruption.

Why not punish yourself again with higher taxes and more criminals on the street ? Its worked out so well this time I don't see why you wouldn't punch yourself in the face again.

You get to live in a mansion and fly around in helicopters instead of live in a row house in Arlington and go to subcomittee meetings. It must be hella fun to be the guv. He has more power than in any other state by far. Nowhere else can you handpick your own speaker of the house and determine the makeup of essentially every oversight board. You're Boss Hogg on a grand scale.

I certainly am no fan of John Kennedy who supported John Kerry then flipped parties to become a darling of the Republicans and wonder how people forget that.
As to Landry, no thanks either.
If it comes down to either of those two I'll have to vote JBE and I ain't too happy about that either.

Jeff Landry is a buffoon.
He's a big mouth, opportunist and was an embarassment when he was on the Hill.
