I don't know about the Tea Party, but I doubt I would. I'm tired of voting against people, and not voting for someone. What difference would it make between him, some other "mainstream" Republican and any Dem that gets the nod on their side? Would anything really change?

I'd be awfully pissed to vote for another Bush; we've had enough of that family.
That said, if he makes it out of the primaries, and the choice is Bush v Clinton, I'll choose the lesser of two evils (only if very slightly less).
If Bush does somehow make it through the primaries, I absolutely beg that he go with Rand as the VP. In my view, Rand's got the best priorities of all POTUS contenders. But he is still young and relatively inexperienced, so I wouldn't ideally go with him at president at this time (but there really isn't anyone more impressive at the moment, so he has my primary vote for now). But assuming Rand doesn't get the republican nominee, I very much hope he gets chosen for the VP bid. I know I've said it here before, but I really believe that would be an ideal position for him at this moment in time. The first direct effect for Rand is that he would get a chance to get a bit more experience before a full presidential run. And just as importantly in the grand scheme, he (and his ideals) would gain a major legitimacy push with establishment republican voters, which would contribute greatly to changing of the direction of the party (which we desperately need).
But as I mentioned, despite the relative youth, he's got the best priorities of the republican contenders at the moment. So I'm on board full steam ahead until the primary picture starts getting a little clearer. And hopefully as that story unfolds, we don't find ourselves marching onwards to Bush 3

If we just don't vote or hold out because the "perfect" conservative isn't in the running, we will end up with Hillary, which will basically be like having Obama for another 4 years.

I hate the bushes but I would love to see Rex's meltdown at another Bush being elected POTUS. His woud be worse as opposed to any other republican.

Particularly Cabinet positions. These people wield tremendous power in terms of how their agencies operate, spend money, formulate regulations and use/abuse political clout. Ousting Dems from control of the Justice Dept, the State Dept, the Labor Dept, and the Environmental Protection Agency, for starters, would go a long way in reigning in an out-of-control federal bureaucracy.

Left and right, I'm sick of the dynastic Presidential Politics.
Since I've been eligible to vote, it's been:
George, son of President vs Al, son of US Senator
George, son of President vs John, son of US Foreign Service Office and husband of fortune holder
John, son and grandson of US Navy Admirals vs Barack, created in NWO test tube
Mitt, son of Governor vs Barack, created in NWO test tube
Now Jeb, son of US President vs HIllary, wife of US President?
Even the GOP dark horse is an outsider US congressman, son of... an outsider US congressman.
I'll be deeply disappointed if Hillary and Bush are the options. Assuming the winner of that election goes on to win reelection, we're looking at 28 of the past 36 years with either a Bush or a Clinton in the WH... basically since I've been able to understand politics. And I'm getting old. Insane. Are we trying to mirror our 'democracy' after Bangladesh, where two families pass the baton back and forth every five years or so?
And to break this inertia, does it take a candidate like Obama, whose campaign and candidacy had a lot of gimmicky qualities? Or from the other side, the hunting hockey mom Sarah Palin? Dear God.

Don't know. But as a liberal, I would consider Jeb Bush for president. Much more presidential than his brother. He's the one that the Bush elder wished had run for president rather than the oldest problem child whose fraternity buddies helped into being Texas governor. He was a puppet. Jeb would never let that happen.
