There was no briefing that included the oppo research dossier. In fact, the IC has found ZERO ties to Trump and Russia, so there would have been no reason to even brief Trump on the dossier.
Buzzfeed nor CNN made any attempt to contact IC officials, because NBC did, and here is their response

No shite. That's what everyone has reported. The media hasn't been saying the dossier is true. They are wondering why it was included in an intelligence briefing.

strangely enough I think buzzfeed acted way more ethically because other outlets had alluded to it, based segments on the foundation of it, and cnn was reporting on it. buzzfeed could've scored a huge win and publicity by debunking the false information, highlighting that portions of it are absurd without verification and running with the headline "CNN is fake news"

CNN used the word "credible" in their report. The intent was clearly to draw a line between Trump and the radical claims.
Now they've exposed themselves and sprayed doubt all over the "Russian connection" bullshite they've been harping on for a month now.

see, when the IC reports that you're a child molester, cnn won't show them the fraudulent dossier, they'll just say it's unverified. and since they said it is unverified, none of your friends, family, etc. will treat you differently or suspect a thing
