No, inasmuch as you think we should take in refugees at all, the reason to do it is that refugees fleeing religious persecution sometimes warrant additional consideration if there is a heightened risk of genocide.

ISIS is not Islamic according to their own scholars. Trump should continue Obama's recent strategy that has caused ISIS to diminish in size and strength. ISIS did cheer for Trump win the election.

quote:

In fact, Trump himself has been featured in ISIS propaganda videosfollowing the Brussels attack and the Orlando massacre.

Trump’s statements also serve to isolate and alienate the same Muslim Americans who must be our partners in this fight. They’re often on the front lines against ISIS in its effort to radicalize those who are disaffected or otherwise susceptible to its hateful message. And they are in the best position to recognize the signs of radicalization and to intervene before it’s too late. Marginalizing these Americans sows distrust of the government and law enforcement, and makes it more difficult to identify and disrupt attacks. Terrorist groups around the world are eager to capitalize on this opportunity: the al-Qaeda group in East Africa released avideo quoting Trump to convince American Muslims to join the group because they are not welcome in their own country.

Dbap. They're not. A billion Muslims and this far right group is the red headed stepchild. Don't be that ignorant. Well, being where you are posting, ignorance is bliss.

I do. Not the current massive swaths of people, but I support it when it done sensibly and in a controlled fashion (Vietnam, Cuba, European Jews, Coptic Christians, etc.).

And as you compose your rebuttal I'm going downstairs to watch Mysteries at the Museum. It's my favorite TV show.

I was at dinner with some Egyptian folks we just concluded business with (a celebratory dinner kind of thing) and we got to talking about ISIS in the Sinai and he started laughing.

I asked what was so funny - he responded "there is no ISIS factions in Sinai, it's the media putting it out there"

I said......welllll what about the plane that was shot down? Did ISIS not have a role in that?

Even Egyptians are f'ing blind to it.

Not these guys. These are top brass of the private oil and gas industry. Next step up is El-Sisi.

Hmmm... wonder where DAESH gets their $ weapons and training from. Can someone fill me in? I guess one country we can rule out is the United States, since weve been fighting a "war on terror" for almost 15 years.
