Yea yea she refused to endorse trump but this woman always sounds so educated, well-prepared, and reasonable when she gets interviewed. I saw her today get interviewed regarding healthcare/ahca and she had such control of the facts and gave a fair hearing to all the issues we face.

A quick wikipedia search shows me she has a 55%/45% conservative/liberal voting record, and for like ten straight years has been awarded as the most bipartisan senator.

You can call her a fake conservative but she has never claimed to be a pure one. It's nice to see such principled maverickness and independence in the senate.

A bit of an oxymoron. Anyways, Rand wins.

i.e. she is wishy washy as Hell and completely useless

That is what we need! a full senate of people who stick their fingers in the air and float like Forrest Gump's feather!

Standing for nothing is "decent", precisely what is wrong with the country.

Well stated.

Though I hope the vitriol from the responses you got continues. Makes it more likely she will jump parties. For the record, we'll take her.

As is? She's a "No" vote, she wants the Medicaid cut removed and Planned Parenthood defunding crossed out.

Maybe or maybe she didn't sell her soul to either devil and uses her brains to vote however she thinks instead of following a party line.

She's pretty good. It would be great if most Republicans followed her lead of pragmatic conservatism.

If your ideal politician is someone that has no guiding principals, but votes whichever way the political wind blows, then Collins is for you. She never votes without asking all those questions not to learn about the issue but to gauge what her voters think about the issue.

IMHO those percentages are meaningless unless they reflect how her constituents wanted her to vote.

Same goes for every other elected official.

FYI, there is nothing intrinsically noble about being moderate.
