That speech really wasn't controversial
not if you agree with it, it isn't.
pretty clear "WE" means 'white America' and the chickens line is white America getting what it deserves, ie chickens that come home, lay eggs that explode.. and now we have the Obomber president, selling guns to drug dealers, using govt to attack his political enemies and importing ebola and enterovirus to the US.
All while taking a semi-permanent golf vacation from the reality of the worst govt administration in history,, ie his, that has created the largest underclass this country has seen the 100 years.
But yea it's all just a big coinky dink, right prog-leftards?

Furthermore, Mr. Wright says Mr. Obama possessed an “Islamic background” and despite his conversion to Christianity has never abandoned his Muslim roots.
Why would we doubt this is true?

pretty clear, Obozo's career path, before being sidetracked to D.C., was to become a Chicago judge, ie bagman for the mob. "Oh yea, I go to church,, uh huh, the church of what's happinin now, brother".

I speculate that any pretend conversion to Christianity by Obama was done purely for political reasons. We know from his own words that his loyalties lies with the Muslims.

quote:Aside from the fact CNN was incorrect regarding both contextual attribution and content, you might have a point.
One of the most controversial statements in this sermon was when he mentioned "chickens coming home to roost."
Of course Peck never made the statement "chickens coming home to roost" in any context. That was all Wright.

I think whether or not Wright was or is a Muslim is completely irrelevant. What I do think is relevant is that he spews a message of hate and division using "religion" as his platform to do so.
What I think is more relevant is that the leader of the free world sat under his spiritual guidance for 20 years and got a free pass from it. I'm sorry, but I'm just not stupid enough to believe that one can sit and listen to this kind of message and not be influenced by it at all.

And when your father is Muslim, your step-father is Muslim, you lived in Indonesia and went to a Muslim school, you have a Muslim name.......uh, you might be a Muslim.

So if a presidential candidate has klan friends or mob buddies it's ok as long as these friends aren't in the cabinet?
I reject the premise of your question.
Why? Because you’re afraid to answer?

I think Americans need to know about Obama's ties to Wright, Bill Ayers, and Frank Marshall Davis, because historians will rewrite him as a persecuted saint if the truth isn't told in the open.

Been sitting in my Catholic Church for 20+ years and i don't agree wih everything...and?
Posted on 10/2/14 at 9:56 am to NikolaiJakov
We know. Wright was his reverend, he sat on an education board with Ayers and Davis was a friend of his grandfather.

"Much of the time, blacks have a pretty good sense of what whites think, but whites are oblivious to common black perspectives. What’s happening, I think, is that the Obama campaign has led many white Americans to listen in for the first time to some of the black conversation — and they are thunderstruck."
Not speaking for me personally, but
It's as if they are shocked to hear the sentiments of the group...have you seen the actions led against the group throughout time. How could any rational or smart person not see this a potential outcome of history?

Seeing how Obama has the Nobel Peace Prize, historians believe they're correct.

His point was that our meddling in the Middle East, toppling govts, supporting dictators, giving Israel carte Blanche with our military aid has resulted in the spread of terrorist groups and attacks on the US. He said it inartful, but it's true. From the Shah to supporting the mujaheddin in Afghanistan, supporting Saddam, and other dictators, we put huge targets on our backs.
This doesn't excuse mass murder but just as Iraq's govt cutting out the Sunni led to initial support of ISIS, just like Israel's chokehold of the West Bank led to an outgrowth of Hamas, and our support of the mujahideen led to the Taliban, for every action there is a reaction and we continue sticking our noses in there.

quote:LOL. Were you born yesterday? If not, the "you folks" line above is one hell of a stone in a glass house.
You folks seem to believe in guilt by association,
But yeah, I don't tend to attend weekly meetings of people spouting shite that I find offensive. And, I'm kinda the norm on this one. So, if you attend such meetings FOR TWENTTY frickING YEARS, you're gonna get associated with the rhetoric. And, you should be.
quote:Well, my take is that you can't choose who your father is. You can choose who you decide to attend and hear sermons from for 20 years. You don't comprehend the difference? Cmon.
There are those who trying to hold Rand Paul responsible for every comment that his father makes, but I bet you have a totally different take on that
