Is Conservatism the natural political reaction to "Fear" ?

After being on this board for years now, I've decided that this is a big part of it.
Conservatives seem to be scared of many things. They're scared of Mexicans. They're scared of Muslims trying to change this country. They're scared Sharia law is coming. They're scared of Liberals. The think Liberalism is a mental disorder. Some were scared of gay marriage. I could go on.
But mostly, it seems they're scared of CHANGE. They want everything to stay the same, or worse yet, to go back in time.
So if Conservatism is not the natural political reaction to fear, then what EXACTLY is it?

"Fear" is a juvenile word used by people who lack the cognitive ability to reasonably justify their positions.

I have never said one thing about "gay death camps" from Trump. That is a complete myth and I would love to know how that got started.
