BS, you know exactly what he means. You're merely comfortable lying to yourself.

No, that would be "you people" to be racist. "You guys" is sexist.

Oh, yes, America is definitely on the wrong side of history, and we'll eventually have hell to pay for it, but it's not because we now want to defend social liberalism. It's because that, in the past, conservative notions of American exceptionalism and religious delusions of divinely-ordained righteousness led us to commit horrors for which we will not be forgiven: nuclear bombing Japan, wiping out hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, etc.
We have had our high moments, to be sure, but we've also had very regrettable lows.

My opinion is that democracy (republic) is under attack by executive powers. Cultural change is the norm in this country and the wind will always be behind the sails of progressive culture but the process in which those changes occur is the problem.
Immigration
Gay Rights
Privacy
Free Speech
Military Intervention
All these issues are now subject to Executive Powers. It's not that they haven't been in the past, it's just they are all on the table so blatantly now. The Congressional powers need to be reestablished and the only way is through the SCOTUS. Listen to liberal professors such as Dr. Turley.
