"I'm not going to the White House," McCourty told TIME on Monday in a text message. "Basic reason for me is I don't feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won't." McCourty told TIME on Monday in a text message. What are these prejudices exactly?

That's his right. No worries.

Unfortunately for him, since the team owner, coach and star player are all friends of the President, he's likely to miss out on the best White House visit ever put on.

Well, he's being invited. If he doesn't feel accepted, it's because he's refusing to be accepted on his own free will.

The follow up question should have been to ask McCourty his opinions on gay marriage and transgender bathroom issues.

So players have an opportunity to possibly discuss their own biases towards Trump with the man himself and they take a pass?

very open-minded of him. Surely positive change will keep moving forward with such a refusal

Any blacks that think Trump is against them just can't be helped.

Lol, I don't know if I agreed with Obama on a single thing... but if I had been invited to the White House and he happened to be POTUS at the time, I damn sure would have gone...

McCourty is a liar. Bill supports Trump. Job security might be on the line. Patriots might ship McCourty to Cleveland if he isn't careful.

Trump should issue a Presidential memorandum that states: "The team shall grab McCourty by his pussy and drag him along for the fun."

If we criticize McCourty for skipping out, shouldn't we criticize Brady for not meeting Obama in '15?
