Carrollton, I think you're forgetting which direction the water is flowing! Without a water use treaty in effect, what remained of the U.S. would be free to divert waters flowing into the Mississippi and its tributaries before it even gets there. It would depend on who else seceded, of course - but its likely the Mississippi could have quite a bit less flow in it!
This is possibly the dumbest thing even you have ever typed. Please do tell where and how you think two million cubic feet per second of water will be diverted.

5) All members of the U.S. military are still required to fulfill their service obligations, and seceded states agree to aid the U.S. in apprehending service members who violate those obligations.
Lmao good luck

I know its mostly red states that will secede - and wouldn't you know it - its the red states that use the most federal spending dollars for tax dollars paid!
That's because you don't count the individual mandate and the ethanol mandate, both of which forcibly transfer billions of dollars a year from red states to blue states. Since those are forced private sector transactions you use Enron accounting and leave them out on the grounds that the federal government isn't the middleman, even though the net effect is the same.
Plus how are you going to support quantitative easing, sweetheart interest rates for megabanks, and other forms of crony capitalism? Without that the Amtrak corridor would be destitute.

The true dumb arse is one who believes the port of New Orleans will cease to serve the needs of the mid west.
Where was that suggested? I wrote the state of Louisiana would profit greatly from control of the mouth of the Mississippi.

I mean, if our new country of Louisiana will be the type to blockade ports and restrict free trade, then I wouldn't want to live there. It would defeat the purpose.
Reading comprehension is obviously not one of your strengths.

Of course if it were an untampered with vote on secession, Louisiana would NOT secede. Louisiana only seceded in 1861 as that election was tampered with. Thank you Dr. Mark Carleton.
Because an election of 1861 is probative of results 153 years later. You suck at political theory. Thank you Dr. Mark Carleton.

It is suggested every time secession is brought up. People act like other parts of the country will be brought to their knees because Louisiana/Texas controls the ports, and O&G.

They already do. Does the port not get used currently? Do you think the port will be used more, after secession? Will Louisiana not lower their taxes on industry and encourage free trade? If anything, the situation for the other states will improve, if that's true.

I am still waiting for the boards resident scientist to explain the diversion of the MS river.
