Yeah but how many of those jobs will be for lower middle class union workers?

Trust me... that will be the story.

The sun doesn't set on IBM.

They have offices in just about every country of the world.

Better question:

Where? Who cares if they hire 25000 more in China?

So they announced the planned hiring before they even met with Trump? Trump has this thing down to a science.

If you had said Lafayette I would have made a comment suggesting it would be easier to understand the IT people I usually have to talk to in India.

He has enough jobs created in his administration. No need to cook the books.

Well, the hires will take place starting in 2017 (to be completed over a four year period), but he can rightly claim some credit for the economic climate that compelled IBM to expand.

None of their plan is a result of Trump. IBM certainly didn't decide just recently to hire 20,000+ people. It is a very savvy decision on their part, though, to announce it prior to their CEO's meeting w/ Trump as a way to curry influence.

IBM's CEO wrote an open letter to Trump basically asking him to continue Obama's policy of funding reeducation and apprenticeship for white collar jobs. They've even started combining high school and technical college to get kids able to fill tech job vacancies. There are a lot of open jobs in America if people would learn the necessary skills.
