Damn Wiggum Wammum, you may have actually succeeded in bringing 90% of the Poli Board together. More or less.

Obtw, if you weren't such an idiot and knew the brutal history associated with Communism, you would be ashamed of yourself for having been so damn ignorant.....and wrong.

Obtw, I want Putin to lose but not help Obama. The fraud-in-chief doesn't deserve to be helped.

Oh no one has been hurt or killed by capitalism? I mean what happened to people in Africa, Asia, in the 1800s to WWII didn't hurt anybody? WWI and WWII which were capitalist wars didn't hurt anybody?

Capitalism has a brutal history also. In fact millions of people have died and suffered under capitalism.

But mark my words. In about two weeks we won' care about this. There will be a solution that gives Putin what he wants and keeps an independent Ukraine.

This is much ado about nothing. This is a made up crisis by capitalist to spur weapons sales and increase the power of the military-industrial complex.

The best part of this is all the people who suddenly care about Ukraine. Who really gives a flying frick what Russia does there? Does it really matter to you if Putin wants to waterboard the whole country? I do not think the US should be sending money or anything else there. The whole place is and always be a suburb of Russia, let them fix the problems they create and send the financial support or deal with the fallout.

So, Wiggie, if you believe in Communism so much, why don't you move to some country that practices what you preach? Of course, I realize that may prove to be rather difficult. The Soviet Union collapsed because their Communist system proved to be unsustainable (not to mention evil). The old goats who run China still deny many personal freedoms to their people, but they learned their lesson regarding the need for an open market system going back to the 1970's.

Maybe Cuba or North Korea would work out for you, bro. You know, you might want to open your mind and figure out why practically nobody is practicing your preferred form of tyranny these days.

Oh, and it's perfectly understandable why you love both Putin and Obama. They both worship at the altar of omnipotent, cradle-to-grave, governmental control over people's lives.

Believe in the power of the individual, Wiggie. It's still not too late.

Odd that the guy you don't want to hurt is playing along.

I wish to have socialism in the USA. I have no desire to move. I am an American.

But I agree that it's funny how we so suddenly care about Ukraine. There are a lot of arm chair generals are there who seem to be hoping for war. I guess all the contractors need the money since we are getting out of Afghanistan soon and we are out of Iraq supposedly.

Look at the bigger picture here. We are done in the Middle East so the military-industrial complex starts another war and crisis.

I don't know why I'm feeding this alter/troll.
This is for the sincere posters:

With Russia in control of Crimea, there will be no true independence for Ukraine. That's what this entire episode is all about. The Ukrainian people tried to show a little independence from Russia and Russia invades. In Putin's view Ukraine is now and always should be a vassal. Their independence should be limited and subject to Moscow's approval.

I didn't ask him to leave, either. I just wondered why he doesn't appear to have the courage of his convictions.

I mean, seriously. The water in Sochi was undrinkable; it was brown! Yet, Wiggum wants Putin to win?

If Wiggum had to move to Russia for 6 months, he would come back and kiss the ground of the country which was founded by truly great men like Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc.

But by all means, Wiggum, don't throw away those posters of Putin and Obama you have hanging in your bedroom.

Wiggum is an alter/troll. He likes to use that name when he really really wants to stir up the knuckle dragging conservatives. Somewhere he is shoving Cruncheez into his mouth congratulating himself on stirring things up.

I hope you're right about him, Gray Tiger. But, RW has been around for awhile, he has almost 3K posts, and he has always shown to be a radical, left-wing kook.

As crazy as it seems, I think he really believes the nutty stuff he says he does.

Putin as a former member of the communist party

I really don't think that's relevent as I don't believe Putin is driven by ideology as much as he's driven by ego. He would make himself Tsar as soon as General Secretary.
quote:

I agree that the former USSR with the exception of the Baltics--since they were invaded in 1940 and independent from 1917 to 1940--should be under a Russian sphere of influence. There is no reason for Russia and the US to be enemies.

I really don't disagree with the sentiment here.

There seems to be a lot of assumptions in this thread that a Putin government is a Soviet one. I see it more of just a gangsterism. And imo the Ukraine government wasn't exactly a paragon of ethics.

This idea that Russia is our enemy leads to a knees-jerk reaction to any militarism on their part.

I try to stick to the baseball game threads. I rarely read the Poli board, and I'll admit that I've only read the OP in this thread.

But HOLY shite!!!!! Are you serious? I can't even think of a response to this that wouldn't get me banned and have the NSA drag me off. Obama is a pussy and Putin is showing it to the world, on a daily basis.

But hey.....we have a pen and a phone.

OP apparently isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. The fact that people like this have the right to vote blows my mind.

Exits Poli Board and patiently waits for the baseball game, trying to ignore the fact that there are idiots among us.

Being a leftist with a long history doesn't confer validity.
Spiderman is a left-wing kook with several alters who has been around for practically forever for example
