Someone explain how Trump's mere presence in the Oval Office would have deterred Hamas?
Sure, I will. Only it wouldn't have been his mere presence.
Trump took action when he was in office the first time. He had a portion of Iran's military classified as a terrorist organization. This sent a clear message to Iran, because in doing so he essentially gained the ability to attack Iran without Congressional approval or involvement. It was as clear a signal as possible. It was like flipping on a laser sight and pointing it at them.
He bombed Syria for their treatment of their own people. Not for threatening the US.
He assassinated Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Qasem Soleimani.
Iran supports Syria because Syria enables Hezbolla. Iran funds Hamas. Iran doesn't get along well with ISIS due to them being anti-Shia, but Trump sent several messages that he wasn't afraid ti kick arse over there and the al-Baghdadi assassination was one of them.
I'm not a Trump cult member, but one thing I do like about him is that he isn't a pussy like so many Huckster Carlson fans these days. He understands leaders like the ones in the Middle East and Putin. He gets them, and they know it. And the biggest thing he gets about them is that he understands that talk means nothing to them. Diplomacy, talk, blah, blah, blah, it means NOTHING to them.
He understands that what you DO is what matters to leaders like them. He has demonstrated that he is willing to act against them and they know it.
I think he' right. I don't think the Hamas thing ever happens with him as POTUS. I don't think Iran would have allowed it, because they would have known that Trump would retaliate against them. Maybe not by way of a bombing or declaration of war, but no Iranian general wants to be the next Qasem Soleimani.

But he's not beyond trying to wipe out the upper echelons of Hamas.
Israel is on that right now with much better intelligence and ability. They certainly don’t need Trump to help them find Hamas. And what would Trump bring to the table anyway? This is Israel’s fight and they are well positioned to do it.

Hamas doesn't give a shite who the American President is when they commit their atrocities.
Hamas doesn't, that's true.
But Iran does.
And Iran funds Hamas.
Hamas didn't attack Israel without the green light from Iran.

People love trump because he isn’t an interventionist
Trumps post is 100% interventionist
So is trump an interventionist or not?

When it comes to Israel he’s anything and everything

Yes. His actions clearly show that he is.
And it worked, and it will always work.
And it's the only thing that will work.
The problem is that too many populists are so far up Huckster Carlson's arse that they will try to believe two opposing things at once.

Then why are they begging for more American welfare money?

I agree but many of the trumpista’s love him because they think he’s a non interventionalist and not globalist.
Clearly he is though.
