I don’t give a flying frick how long the government is shut down

The only constitutional responsibility given to the federal government is to provide for national defense. If the same people that voted for 20 billion for a wall in 2006 can’t give 5.7 billion for a wall this year under this president, then it’s my opinion the government should just stay shut down because Democrats like Nancy and Chuck care way more about rhe next election than they do about the next heinous crime committed by an illegal alien.

They’ll eventually get paid when Democrats agree to put the country first.

We have a bunch of sissies on this political board, complaining that air travel could be interrupted over 5.7 Billion of a 4 Trillion dollar budget .

Coast Guard is under Dept of Homeland Security (they have never been DoD like the Army, Navy, and Air Force). Nobody in DHS is getting paid. They will receive all back pay when the government reopens, just like they did with the last shutdown, and the one before that, and the one before that.
Does it suck not getting paid as scheduled? Of course.
Is Coast Guard any more special than the other agencies under DHS? (ICE, Border Patrol, Secret Service) Nope.
Fifty years ago some members of the Coast Guard were temporarily assigned to the Navy and served in Vietnam. They deserve recognition for that, but it really has jack shite to do with a shutdown in 2019.

Yes in that it operates much more like the military with contract commitments and choosing where the frick you are going to live your life. Not the same in any of the other services you mentioned

No one in DC or the media cared when we had the 8 year private sector shutdown during obama's regime. 80/85% of the American people suffered. Record unemployment, no jobs, people out of work, zero growth, people losing hundreds of thousands & having to short sell their homes, health insurance costs skyrocketing & I could go on & on.
Now when we have govt workers barely getting hit b/c they WILL get all of their money back unlike us, they all go crazy.

You are correct , Obama put a lot of coal miners out of work with his regulations and not a peep from the liberals.
