I can't stand people like him, Douglas Brinkley.

This DC establishment cheese eating guy Douglas Brinkley still must think that he is talking to the political chumps who elected people that he liked before. When of course we the people are not that easily fooled anymore knowing that his political friends are not ever what they seem to be.
The Liberal minded people who are only interested with getting reelected on giveaway welfare programs, addicting a lot of poor American to keep voting Democrat. Like the race, and gender merchants, who Douglas must still be living around in that political bubble talking like that about President Trump

When your robbing Peter to pay Paul, you can always count on Paul's vote

From the comment section.
I couldn't of said it any better.

The welfare programs are not giveaway programs, they are assistance programs to help people get back on their feet.

Then why do so many sit on their butt and draw it for years? Takes a long time to get those loafers on their feet.

Unfortunately they've been used to create a permanent underclass.

That sounds great on paper but welfare programs are no longer a safety net and have become a lifestyle.

Fine - limit benefits to 6 months.

If that was what they actually were, no one would complain.
The safety net has become a hammock for far too many. There should be a lifetime cap.

And yet overwhelming data shows that they stay on the programs for years on end and use the money to bring more poor and dependent people in this world! You can laugh and dismiss me or you can be a grown up and acknowledge this as fact!

They are often handed out to people who have never been "on their feet"

We're now into the fifth generation for some of these folks. When does the "on their feet" part happen? It can be argued that these programs keep people in poverty because it subsidizes it.

I would love for people like Douglas Brinkley to get out of their ivory towers, million dollar homes, & Limousine liberal cocktail parties & get out into the community & talk to real people. Do you think Brinkley has ever been to a lower to middle class neighborhood? I doubt it.

That only exists in your mind.
