Unruly couple forces Delta flight to turn around

An unruly couple aboard a Delta flight bound for Los Angeles forced the plane to land back at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) on Wednesday night.

About 30 minutes after takeoff, the flight crew began complaining that two passengers were refusing to follow their instructions.

The pilot got on the intercom twice to ask the couple in their mid-30s to take their seats, threatening to turn the plane around if they didn't follow the crew's instructions, according to one passenger.

"He made a third announcement minutes later that we were headed back to MSP," Rebecca Mueller, a passenger on the flight, told The Hill. "Once we landed, the police came onboard and escorted the couple out in handcuffs while people booed them."

A Delta passenger is heard in video obtained by The Hill directing an expletive at the pair as they were escorted out of the plane.

The Star Tribune identified the couple as Blake Fleisig and Anna Koosmann, both of Los Angeles.
