Facts are funny, huh? I've never voted for a Democrat in a national election in my life, but Republicans are just in denial about this. Our system is unsustainable, and all the free market reforms in the world ain't gonna fix it.

It doesn't work for the average American citizen, and it's going to get exponentially worse as automation and AI replace millions and millions of middle class jobs.

The notion that if you aren't a top earner than frick your family's healthcare is ludicrous. Everybody can't be doctors and CEOs.

Sorry if that makes me a RINO Cuck Socialist.

You thought that was a compliment?

It's like watching monkeys driving cars on 95 in Miami at rush hour.

Well, if the policy fits...

Single payer here would create the world's largest employer on its own and that employer would be be fedgov who, in case you didn't notice, is highly inefficient at most anything and everything. That should be of concern to you.

So you're saying there is a viable plan that could be enacted today that keeps the ACA's protections for people with pre-existing conditions, doesn't remove lifetime caps, and costs people less than the ACA does? Cause if they pass something that doesn't do all that, there will be a democratic tide in 18 that will make 94 look like a gentle ripple.

Lol. No.

The people Obamacare bailed out were already voting Democratic. It will be interesting to see where premiums go over the next two years without the Fannie money being infused back into the budget.

There's a big difference between single payer and true Socialized medicine. I'm not advocating for socialized medicine.

How are we going to pay for it?

What happens to the middle class that is already living pay check to pay check when you increase their taxes and now can't afford their mortgage.

Lots of unintended consequences when you start promising other peoples' money to other people. Agreed.

It's far from the slam dunk you want to believe in.

But, by all means, I trust you that this is the last time you'll ask for the government to expand.

What do you think single payer is going to do that private industry doesn't do currently?

Save 3% in insurance company profits and promptly increase overall expenditures by 10% while decreasing the quality of care?

What do I win?

I think he's going with the BamaATL route (propaganda). The government won't employ the doctors or own the facilities.

So like now but less efficiency and innnovation.

They somehow believe that by removing the profit margin from a medical premium that they are going to not see an increase in the admin so therefore they will save 5%. 5% of a $1500 premium is only $75 per month. That will be eaten up by natural tendency for government to be inefficient and bloated.

It's also just a one time savings.

Not take a profit and cover everybody. Not bankrupt people when they're sick or make people choose between food and medicine. Sounds horrible I know

OK. How much profit will be saved by expanding the federal government to accomdate single payer?

So you think all medical costs will just be free under single payer and therefore bankruptcies will end? Am I understanding your track.

ETA: Also, do you promise that this is the last time you'll ask for fedgov to be expanded in any fashion going forward?

Replace ACA with Medicare. you cut costs 5% off the top when you eliminate BC/BS and use Medicare instead.

What an uninformed comment. Medicare sucks unless you buy a separate supplemental insurance policy from a private insurance company.

And LOL at someone saying ACA saves Americans money... the ACA premiums aren't frozen, and any increase is eaten by the American taxpayer. In the liberal mind, this is considered "free."

Why do you hate mother nature? Why do you hate natural selection? Why do you want to weaken the species?

The sick die off, and the heard Prospers. Sucks, but natural selection has ruled the roost since the dawn of time. And nothing you do will change that.

Nature is a bitch. Open your eyes and stop believing in unicorn farts and happy endings for everyone.
