How many of you believe that Trump is going to select Romney.

I am beginning to believe that he is going to do it. Who is feeding Trump on this?

I believe that this would be a mistake. Would you be happy or disappointed?

He shouldn't have selected that self promoting Cuck Haley either.

I think it's a good move. Romney is well qualified and will be an asset to Trump as SOS, it also shows Trump is able to rise up above bad blood in order to pick the best people.

He is going to alienate a lot of his supporters if he does it. Trump made promises about Draining the Swamp. Romney is the Swamp.

Having competent, even tempered people around him is noting but a positive. I totally get the Romney #nevertrump thing, but it actually shows a "Lincolnesque" ability to put personal behind him and build a great team.

It's a good choice. He's also not a Washington Insider, even though he's tEstsblsihment. Far better than unrepentant neocon Bolton.

I don't believe he will, but won't be mad if he does.

Would be great. Romney and Mattis would be a huge credibility and competence boost for the administration

I think he is and this is the first bad sign I have seen in him. This somewhat tells me that he is constantly seeking approval and can;t stand for someone to not like him. That is not the sign of a confident person.

Just so we're clear:

Former Gov who has never been in federal office or involved in any notable allegation of wrongdoing: Swamp

Long term senators, rehashed bureaucrats who are married to long term senators, former SOTH who was charged with ethics violations: Not Swamp

Romney and Trump do not share the same views regarding foreign policy. They differ on the Iraq War, Russia, etc. This will not work. If he picks Romney he won't last two years.

Mitt would be an excellent choice for SecState, he is immensely qualified AND it would be a powerful symbolic gesture that shows that Trump can put personal feelings/feuds aside and do what is best for the country

No, they wouldn't be doing dinner. Trump would just name him Sec of State. The dinner is to ensure good relations moving forward...

After listening to Mitt kiss the ring on the way out of the building a moment ago, I personally think that Trump is moving in another direction.

I thought about that as a possibility also.

SecState serves at the pleasure of POTUS - Romney would have to execute Trump's policy

I agree, he was (is) a shitbag for his (dare I say it) deplorable actions & comments during the election; but Mitt IS a man of integrity (again, I disagree with what his "integrity" caused him to do in opposing Trump & de facto endorsing Clinton).

He is a guy that can be counted on to keep his word and perform his duties.

I know it is a bitter pill to swallow for hard core Trump supporters, especially those that got on the train early; but Mittens would be an excellent choice

Bolton is definitely much better than Romney. Bolton understands the need to be tough against Russia, China, North Korea and Iran and he understands that it is important for America to project force. I think Romney is a bit weaker on this and less strong on protecting Isreali interests.

That having been said, Romney did say correctly four yehars ago that Russia is our biggest enemy. Since he is coming from that angle maybe he is not so bad.

Just out of curiosity, what's their respective differences on China?
