A little info was provided in that link above.
First of all it was nearly 40 years ago. Even if legit, can people not change?
Secondly, he countersued but ended up just settling. It's hard to deduce anything from lawsuits like that. It could've been completely unsubstantiated and they just settled to get it over with.
Thirdly,it seemed he made up for it from what I read.
Lastly, I doubt the everyday liberal calling him racist even are aware of this particular claim.

But wouldn't have been considered racist long before running for POTUS if that case were true? Instead you have him with Sharpton and Jackson in many pics in each other's company. Why would those two hang out with a racist?
