...of the 60s?

It seems today's young & restless progs are embracing the same slogans, chants, etc. of the 1960s, but what do they have in common besides discontent?

Millennial progs are worse. Hippies were more libertine and weren't trying to use force to get people to conform to their ideas.

Millennial progs are miserable, technology-obsessed robots who think everyone should think and act like them. They are by far the most authoritarian group of people in this country.

Flower Children as in Hippies? They sust smoked a lot of drugs and lived in communes preaching free love.

I think you're thinking of the educated college kids. The Berkley students of the world

I certainly don't disagree with this.

Think about Berkeley in the 1960's. It was ground zero for the Free Speech movement and SDS. Now it's ground zero for riots intended to suppress free speech and the actual suppression of free speech.

Generation X checking in and couldn't be happier to not be a part of either group.

Can we really make this comparison accurately given our access to information nowadays?

I mean it's possible we would have never even seen something like that car crash from this weekend, if it wasn't for technology that allowed it to be captured via cell phones, drones, etc., and then able to be broadcast immediately without the internet and social media.

So immediate video of people flying through the air, is a lot more dramatic and visceral than reading about the story in the next day's newspaper.

I'll tell you one thing. The female 60s hippies I knew who never grew out of it look exactly like Heather Heyer's mom today:
