Probably because Hillary is no longer around (I kid)

This is how they plan to drain the swamp I guess.

Probably, because like many bureaucracies, it's not necessary.

You'd think an ethics office would be the most necessary bureaucracy

Plus this move doesn't get rid of it, it just rids it of independence.

Can you list some examples of the office being effective?

Good. A government "ethics"office can serve no other purpose than to attack political opponents of the ruling party or administration. There is literally a zero percent chance of it being anything else.

Hard to say it was very effective. It was likely as "independent" as the MSM

How incredibly convenient it must be to have the power to vote away or gut your own ethical oversight. You can't make this shite up

The office is staffed by both Republicans and Democrats

Apparently you just did. There are other means of ethics oversight.

It's ok, we all know politicians will thoroughly investigate themselves.

Is suspicious of all government. Thinks one government party's motives are reasonable and mostly correct.

Is that your argument for keeping it?

You said its only purpose is to attack political opponents, my response is that the office is bipartisan

So you're saying that in 2008 when this "office" was formed, there had been no ethics oversight prior and this new bureaucracy was the great fix?

It was a waste of money.

Everyone knows politicians are dirty.

We didn't need to pay anyone to tell us that.
