House Dems start work to disqualify Trump after SCOTUS ruling.

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Tuesday on CNN’s “Newsroom” that the Supreme Court unanimously overturning a Colorado Supreme Court ruling that disqualified former President Donald Trump from the ballot was SCOTUS punting.
Raskin said, “The, court didn’t exactly disagree with it. They just said that they’re not the ones to figure it out. It’s not going to be a matter for judicial resolution under Section Three of the 14th Amendment, but it’s up to Congress to enforce it. I disagree with that interpretation just because the other parts of the 14th Amendment are self executing. People can go to court and say that something violates equal protection, even if there’s not a federal statute that allows them to do that. But any event, the Supreme Court punted and said, it’s up to Congress to act.”
And here it is!

“And so I am working with a number of my colleagues, including Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Eric Swalwell, to revive legislation that we had to set up a process by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified by section three of the 14th Amendment and the House of Representatives already impeached Donald Trump for participating in insurrection by inciting it. So the House has already pronounced upon that, and there was also a 57 to 43 vote in the Senate. The question is whether speaker Mike Johnson would allow us to bring this to the floor of the House?”

He was acquitted of insurrection by the Senate. This is going to fail just as spectacularly and give Trump even more support. These people are like the anti-smoking nuts in that South Park episode. They're so unhinged they don't realize how big of a turnoff they've actually become.

The stupidity of this moron.....Supreme court will overturn the insanity. ......Never been charged or found guilty or found guilty of Insurrection.

The irony of this fricking statement
Every single issue currently plaguing the US and its political systems is 100% the result of Congress punting its job to unelected executive entities and the courts. Every. Single. One.

"We already accused him of insurrection, which is evidence of the insurrection"

Cancer treatment is wasted on this rancid soul.
Funny how he brings up the Sham Impeachment Hoax #2 as some manner of proof of #MuhInsurrection, while failing to note that the Senate acquitted Trump on those same, bogus charges.

Uhhhhh, Trump has been acquitted of every single thing they have thrown at him in the last 3 years. They just say shite with such conviction. It's as impressive piece of "speak it into existence" as I've ever seen.

Trump is safe then, because he never committed, engineered, promoted, etc an insurrection. Just because the Dems and their propaganda arm keep saying it doesn't make it true.

I imagine their law would just require one way to find him guilty is more than half the Senate supporting it
