The answer is both yes and no. Yes in the sense that falsehoods can lead to bad policy. No in the sense that I never trust anything out of a politicans mouth.

But, but, but he's not a politician!!!!!1!!1

Trumpkins gonna Trumpkin. We all saw it in the primaries. Hell, I had a thread earlier today with an interview of a Nazi Germany survivor who not only said Trump is NOT Hitler, but went on to say that the college campuses today exhibit much more Nazi-esque behavior.

LINK

Trumpkins jumped in, immediately downvoting and bitching about me calling Trump Hitler. It's Trumpkin GOLD Jerry! They are willfully ignorant at this point, and rival Obamabots in blind adoration.

The voter fraud part is 100% true. Maybe not as many as he said but still true.

People who believe that people do not vote illegally in huge numbers are so fricking naive.

"Based on the data, Richman estimated that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in the 2008 presidential election, which would translate to around 1.2 million votes. According to Richman, about 80 percent of these non-citizens voted for Barack Obama against John McCain."

Considering the push by the Democrats and La Raza and such to get every Latino resident a voter registration card, I am sure that percentage is higher.

And that does not count felons that illegal voted or those that voted in multiple locations or voted for dead people and so on.

There is a reason the Democrats sued states that put in Voter ID laws.

There's the spinning of policy that has not been negotiated and put into practice and presenting it in an overly optimistic way that most politicians do that ends up amounting to a "lie" after all things have played out. You can tell when you are being played, but it isn't a directly verifiable lie, at least on the immediate surface. Then there's Trump completely fabricating statistics and facts that can be easily and quickly verified like claiming that we currently have the worst murder rate in 47 years. Then he complains about dishonest and "fake" news. Though I did just read that this particular one may just be incompetence which doesn't make it look much better. There has never been anything like it in the presidential office, and you are lying just as much as Trump is if you are trying to spin it like this is business like usual.

Absolutely. His Hyperbole is off the charts. But I've learned to not take him literally, and it helps immensely.

I voted for Obama in '08. I did not vote for him in '12. The problem I had with him is the exact opposite of Trump. He never once said a damn thing that was truthful, no matter how engaging and believable he was as a speaker.

With Trump, it's easy to identify the BS and Hyperbole. With Obama, it was difficult to identify the BS and Hyperbole, but impossible to ignore his divisivness and race baiting.

So yeah... I'd prefer Trump tone it down a bit. I'd prefer him to be a better communicator. But in retrospect, Obama was one of the best presidential orators of the past 50 years... yet he was just as frustrating for different reasons.

And at the end of the day, what makes it easy for me to appreciate that Trump is simply using hyperbole as a communication style... as bad as he may be, he's still not hillary clinton. I sleep soundly with the knowledge I helped make that happen.

Except for voting for Obama in '08, this pretty much mirrors my thoughts.

Tumps ineptness as a speaker is very troublesome to me - I cannot recall any person of prominence who cannot construct a reasonable sentence and who seems blissfully unaware of any historical context. I have never seen a more narcissistic person, one who spends his entire day worried about his image. It baffles me.

I have come to believe he does really have the best intentions for bettering the country in a way that I approve of. And I have always been convinced that HRC would have been the worst thing to happen to the nation since LBJ.

So my pragmatism tells me we have to accept buffoonery for his tenure and hope that the success of his agenda overrides numbskullery he displays on an hourly basis.

He was the republican canidate and now a republican president. I will support him fully in his fight against the godless heathens that own the Marist Democratic Party and it's unholy alliance with the Muslims.
I don't give a frick what he says or what he does as long as he fights for Christians against the Muslim/Marist globalist cabal that , in my opinion, are trying to set the stage for the coming of the Beast.
It was written that in the end days, Christians will be prosucated and mocked while the Godless worship sin.
Flame all you want because it will not change the truth that is the Democratic Party has turned against Christ and western civilization that was built around the fundamental faith in Christianity.
I will support Trump come hell or high water and anyone else that will fight against the evil that is the Democratic Party.

It would bother me if the Press was reporting honestly and Trump was replying dishonestly. Of course that is not remotely the case. Unfortunately, the vast majority of claims "he makes shite up" are either patently false or deal with such petty things as to approach complete irrelevance. As long as the pattern of OVERT MEDIA DUPLICITY continues, no, it does not bother me a bit.

Trump's responses simply ensure the resulting narrative reaches an endpoint on neutral ground.

Not as much as when our former president spoke across the country time and time again saying the ACA was going to save the average family $2,500 per year. We all knew that was a straight up lie. Now if Trump goes back on his campaign promise and raises my taxes costing me more money then I will have a major problem.

Its the exact same as it was for the left... Blind following

The left KNEW Obama was lying about Obamacare, but they played dumb because he was their guy and they were blindly supporting him. Now the right is doing it with Trump
