Representative Scalise made a good point: We are America, and we do not allow thugs to commit atrocitities and set conditions and red lines.

At this point I am starting to believe we need to do more. Even high-ranking republicans are encouraging us to provide more overt assistance, to include aircraft and surface-to-air defense systems.

This can be seen as a turning point on the Biden presidency, and I think failure to stand up to Putin will be seen as a mistake if the U.S. continues to allow Putin to bully Europe.

We can’t afford the luxury of sitting back and saying “it’s not our problem”.

We are the leader of the free world and the current world order, plain and simple.

We do it all the time - as long as we get our cut.

Completely agree. This is a European dispute. These kinds of disputes have happened throughout history. The nations of Western Europe should bow up and stop them, if they think that it’s a problem.

We don’t have a dog in the fight.

Not our war.

Don't trust those frickers. The weapons lobby has their fist so far up their arse it isn't even funny.

Let Europe stand up to Putin. This isn't our fight.

The hell we can't. Let your kids go fight a fricking war in Russia, while our aggression eventually incites China into the fray. This is NOT our problem, world police man.

Instead we sit idle while our elected (and installed) thugs commit atrocities, and set conditions and red lines.

Keep banging the war drum, your illegitimate establishment overlords will be pleased.

Whenever someone claims we will be on the wrong side of history if we don’t do X, it is shorthand for “We don’t have a legitimate reason to do this but we’re trying to guilt you into it anyway.”

Youre free to take up a rifle and lead the charge yourself. Somehow I suspect you will not.

Maybe Europe should spend more money on their military and stop depending on Russia for important goods .

Sure we do.

We’ve let the Saudis kill anywhere from 7k to 15K civilians, according to Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the NYT.

And we’ve given them the weapons to do so.

All while buying oil from them.

Actually, we can. It's not our problem. Let Europe do something without us for a change.

How will it judge us if it is determined we first instigated the aggression? Asking for a friend.
