Well this escalated quickly

Yahoo! Sports' Dan Wetzel has been "texting with team officials around the NFL," and the belief around the league is that the Ravens will release Ray Rice.

And while not right away, some team will pick him up.

Sure they do. The NFL is a results only business. If the NFL and Ravens do nothing, what ultimately happens?

Answer. Millions of people continue watching the games. The Super Bowl will still be highest rated event of the year (even if the Ravens are in it); Advertisers will talk tough, but ultimately can't walk away from the mass exposure for their products that an NFL broadcast provides; there will be another controversy to take the public's attention away from this one.

The NFL made its decision and changed it policy for the future. It's time for them to move on. If the NFL's response to Rice's actions personally offend you, then don't patronage the team or league. That's really the only recourse

I don't think anyone touches him this year... or if someone does, they pick him up with the understanding that he is on a self imposed suspension for the remainder of the season.

1) Eric Holder will launch a full investigation into racist violence against black women followed shortly by a hashtag campaign by Michelle and a beer summit with Obama.

2) the NFL commissioner will ban the use of the word,"Rice" in conversations of their announcers because it's offensive to black women
3) white people will try to apply this to their lives in inappropriate ways

Yes, yes we are.....we got our coach suspended for a year and much more outragious penalties for just words spoken by an assistant coach.

This motherfricker clocks a woman and DRAGS her out of an elevator and gets a 2 game slap on the wrist?

He disrespects women, period. He DRAGGED her out. Why not pick her up and carry her out? Why leave her laying there for others to see?

He should be gone! COngrats to TMZ for getting hold of video the legals from the NFL couldn't find!

I imagine it's directly related to her ability to go shopping.

He should have been suspended for at least half the season.

Why? for what he did in a domestic situation?

You want the league to punish players for everything they do?

Yes, it is a bad thing to do, I do not disagree at all, it was horrible and reprehensible.

But why is that a concern of the NFL?

Not just a star, any player.

Employer should not be suspending people for what happens at home.
