One of my favorite parts of this election is liberals who couldn't name two members of Obama's cabinet getting frothy at the mouth over every cabinet pick like the freedom of the world depends on it.

How will we go on if Devos is confirmed!!!! Oh, the humanity.

I hate the idea of rewarding their antics, but she is not qualified. Regardless of what you want that role to do, put someone in it that has the chops to advocate and be listened to. Take it seriously.

Agreed, especially if the goal is to abolish it. Find someone who can make the case (e.g. show the pervasiveness of fraud, waste, and abuse) and take the case to We The People.

So yo're saying they were acting like petulant children who need to be grounded and sent to bed without dinner?

Thanks Trump.

She may not be, but their antics have made me not care and want her in. It's the same thing with gay marriage: I was on their side until they went batshit about it

I pulled the lever for trump and am very pleased with much of his work thus far.

Devos is a miss though imo. I would be upset if she were replaced with someone else.

I want something fresher than more charter schools rhetoric.

Get the government out of the teachers hair. Get the technology out of elementary and bring back basics and play. More Montessori type learning. Small group learning. Fundamentals.

Sending children especially young ones to just another school full of technology assaults on their senses. Unequipped to handle the sensory overload as well as using them to data mine them do death is the real culprits.

Not just school of choice and charter shite.

I agree with all of this. However:

This is a fantastic point. Kids are being taught to be fully reliant on technology rather than their own selves.

I also believe homework must be abolished. The entire reason kids are at school all day is to work at their studies. Forcing them to continue this work on their spare time is unnecessary and wrong. Everyone needs a break from work and/or studying, especially kids. If you can't teach them what they need to know during school hours then you probably need to find a career you are more skilled at performing.
