GOP is simply not a politically cohesive party right now

I just don't see alot to unify the GOP at the moment. Its been a big tent for a while, which used to work to some degree,
But from my standpoint, I simply could never support the likes of Haley, Christie, Hutchinson. They are simply Democrat-lite, NeoCons and don't see the point.
And vice versa, their supporters would never support the agenda on the other side of the party.
I don't know what the betting markets are right now, but I would give the GOP about 10/1 odds in 2024 no matter who the nominee is, and if you factor in the rigged voting system. I just don't see any positive momentum or coalition building that can work in this current format.
On the other hand, the Democrats seem pretty united on just about all their diabolical, globalists, WEF plans. There really isn't much of a debate on that side.

It's a broken party, no doubt. Half the party wants a reasonable conservative in the Whitehouse. The other half just wants to be entertained by people who say things that sound good but don't back it up.
After last night, I'm convinced the only 2 things the Republican party firmly cares about is war and reality TV.

If unity means alignment with the likes of Hutchinson, Haley, Christie, etc., I would take a pass on them as much as they would pass on Trump.
Desantis has been less than stellar, but I could support him based upon some of his work as governor.
What I think about more than the immediacy of this election is the future of the party as there just isn’t much on the horizon that seems to unify. A large count of right side voters simply don’t trust these GOPe types.

Who is that? There isn’t a conservative even running.

Don’t fall for the 50 year old media psyop.
The democrat party is a hodgepodge of black Christian churches, marginal misfits, broken union members, and elites who hate each other. Their differences are just minimized by the TV.

For good reason, the GOPe ("Right wing" of uniparty) are worthless cowards. There's maybe a handful of guts in the lot of them

Good.
The GOP sold us out when they joined the political establishment
frick THE GOP.
Trump is our last hope.

Leadership of the party is a morally bankrupt elite, while the rest of the party rallies around the literal demagogue that the leadership hates.

They love stimulus checks and Pfizer. Sad!

So you're saying Trump didn't have the US in one of the best economic periods in a long time, no war, on top of many other things?
You care too much about tweets maybe. No worries, so do 12 year old girls.

the DEMs aren't that cohesive, either, but they don't have one person with 15-25% of the party demanding the other 75-85% bow down or he'll ensure opponent victory. THAT is the driver of this conflict in the GOP.
*ETA: compare Bernie to Trump and how they support their in-party competition. Complete 180

True. The 'unity' veneer of the dem party is very thin.

It's the GOPe that is not viable irl. The real Conservatives are America First behind Trump with the RINOs trying to maintain control against the will of the people. They are pissing into the wind. The 'hand raising' scenario on the stage last night clearly defined the dynamic.

Perspective is everything. A big tent GOP like the one "unified" under people like Bush and McCain isnt good for America, no more than the current monstrous version of the democrat party is. The unified GOP of McCain couldn't win an election anyway - it was time for change.
The GOP has gone through a reformation that has brought about more tolerable social politics as well as sane foreign policy. That's a good thing. Now, they just need to keep fighting this covid voting nonsense and they will win elections handily. People dont want the insane policies the dems are pushing.

Nah, the neocons, libertarians, and like old school Reagan coalition conservatives make up a lot of the leadership, but they don’t make up the base, which is increasingly nationalist/populist. It’s not nearly as bad a situation as the democrat party where the leadership is trying to desperately hang onto Clinton liberalism with a base that is divided between socialists, and various ethnic nationalists, and lgbtq activists. The GOP sucks but at least its voters are capable of changing the party and bending it to their will. The groups under the DNC leadership don’t like or trust each other and can’t even get their preferred candidates nominated outside of a handful of congressional districts.
