it's actually a power play.

i don't subscribe to this BS but in business world you pulling them to you or putting your hand on top is a sign of alpha. if you jerk or let them cover your hand it's an sign of opening negotiation from strength.

again, it's BS in my opinion, but it's something executives do.

It's good that you don't subscribe to it, because it's dumb.

I appreciate a firm handshake as a sign of mutual respect, but these people who think jerking someone around proves alpha status are living in a fantasy land. Walking around crushing people's hands or manhandling them is some clown show shite and disrespectful. when people try do that shite to me, I just embarrass the shite out of them by treating them like a toddler.

I think Trump is overboard on this garbage. Maybe it's something he latched on early in his life and he's rich enough that nobody has corrected him since. In any case, the effect is mostly lost when what he is doing is totally transparent.
