A gender study degree is not even as useful as basket weaving.

It’s real and it’s a real damn shame universities offer it to steal students money.

It has its place in academia. Acting like it's some sort of prevalent degree is disingenuous. Colleges don't exist solely for vocational reasons and the advancement of our understanding of the world can be very restricted if we are only concerned with its monetary value.

I’m ok with offering degrees in non-monetary value, just don’t make taxpayers pay for it by forgiving student loans.

No matter what your preferred college is, never donate to school of liberal arts. Waste of $$

This line of reasoning is why young people borrow six figures to pay for a degree in gender studies and then get a job at Starbucks.

I knew a girl when I was in college who majored in "Majority-Minority Relations" at Michigan State.
When she told me this, I just laughed and said "Get the f*ck out of here! Are you f*cking serious?" Needless to say, she and I never became friends. Oh well!

I'd disagree only on the basis that psychology, counselling, and psychiatry fall under that school. Humans need to continue to better our understanding of ourselves in a structured and ethical manner.

I appreciate your moxy on this and for the most part, I agree.
The only issue I have with degrees like this are when scholarships, loans and Government funded Grant's are supporting them.
You want to pay out of your own pocket for shite like this, then go ahead. Public dollars however should not be funding an education as worthless as this.
This board will refuse to get where you're coming from.
Have your upvote.
