Gen X Progressive:

Dear Building Owner:

I would like to bring the fact that your building does not have sufficient access for those with disabilities. Please consider building a ramp so that those in wheelchairs can access your building. Here is a list of contractors that have performed similar projects. Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.

Millennial Progressive:

Dear Capitalist Pig,

You piece of shite. You need to remove your stairs because they are offensive to those with disabilities. If you don't remove them, we will call for a boycott of your building because you are a disabled phobic scumbag.

This is actually pretty accurate.

You just forgot to have the Milly also threaten to use the govt to abolish said business as well as the owner's personal/family financials.

All I'm seeing here is that baby boomers were shitty parents.

The only mistake I see here is assuming that the Gen X progressive is that polite?

Go take a look at any SJW rally... there's a wide range of ages represented.

As a Gen Xer and former Prog, I can tell you I witnessed the shift from "somewhat tolerant" to "no tolerance from the enemy" about 15 years ago. Now, do some Gen Xers now participate in the new approach? Absolutely, but you have to remember most Gen X Proggies like myself grew up in an era of civility due to seeing success of the uniparty working kindly together during the Clinton era.

Once GWB was put in, and it was determined by the left that the war was a great dividing point (even though most Ds voted to go to war), that was the end of civility. Combine that with the MSM showing their true colors, the past 15 years have really lead us to this point.

I could write an essay on this but will spare everyone.

And Millennials are shitty young people. It makes sense. It sucks to be sandwiched between these two pretentious, annoying generations.

My parents were boomers, but they weren't shitty. Both came from poor families full of vets that scraped together every dollar growing up. Neither side took govt assistance either. Very old school. Required me to have a job as young as 10 years old (I would cut grass in my hood).

I know it's all anecdotal, but I get the point.

Sort of.

I think the beginning of the end and death of civility was the Clinton Impeachment.

The 2000 election pushed civility into the grave.

The mess from both sides during the Bush Wars killed civility forever.

That's what happens with our society throws out any semblance of morality in exchange for a "do what makes you feel good" gospel. Kids are raised to do what makes them happy and they don't understand how to cope with unhappiness. They aren't taught to respect others but only treat people based on what they can do for you. You get these kids trashing everything when they don't get their way and they don't care about the people they may hurt in the process.

Pretty accurate, although I partially blame my Generation for not ridiculing PC culture enough as it was emerging full-on in the 1990s.

We tried.

I think one of the biggest differences is that GenX smoked, drank and fought a lot more than this generation.

Most of us came up with the understanding that physical violence was always on the table if you got in someone's face about something. We didn't think we'd have daddy's attorney to sue somebody for kicking our arse. This was pre-Columbine and "zero-tolerance" for violence.

Also, the whole "protest culture" of the Boomers was something we thought was stupid and self-absorbed for the most part. Millennials have seemed determined to all want to check "protesting" off their "life experiences list".
