The sheer stupidity in this article is beyond belief.
Excuse me senorita, you broke the law coming here the way you did. That makes you a criminal.
Excuse me again senorita, your children where born here. They can study here until their heart is content.
Pardon me Julio, there is indeed a way for her to come here. Its called LEGAL IMMIGRATION.
She should try it.

The undocumented woman who was deported to Mexico Thursday amid protests in downtown Phoenix said she felt like a criminal when she was rushed out of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices in a caravan of unmarked cars.

“I felt like a criminal,” Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos told Mexican reporters in Nogales, where she is planning to settle for now.

"I'm doing this for my kids so they have a better life. I will keep fighting so they can keep studying in their home country," she told the Associated Press.
Excuse me again senorita, your children where born here. They can study here until their heart is content.

Her attorney, Ray Ybarra Maldonado, said there aren't many legal avenues for her to come back to the U.S.
"Getting back to the U.S., legally, there's really no route for her. There's no avenue for her. There's no application she can submit. There's no waiver she can submit," Maldonado said. "I mean, this is a prime example of our failed immigration system.
Pardon me Julio, there is indeed a way for her to come here. Its called LEGAL IMMIGRATION.
She should try it.

You mean the woman that Obama's administration got deported?

She DID Break the law and she has to go but I'd rather see different deportations. She's been here 20 years and is an upstanding and productive person .

I am curious why her falsified papers are often glossed over in this story.

Without knowing her grounds of deportation, she is likely barred for no less than ten years, but if she committed an aggravated felony she will be barred forever, so the attorney is right, she has no way to legally immigrate now. If a person cannot accept our immigration laws need updating, then they haven't looked at them. The INA is a cluster.
ETA: It seems she committed identity theft, which if that's the case she will be barred for life. I have no problem with a life bar for people who commit identity theft.

No one wants to update them. Corporations are fine with cheaper labor. Democrats are fine with a wink and a nod and a burgeoning new generation of Dem voters.

If the left wants to make an example of her, so should the right. What public benefits has she receive?

There is legal immigration
However if she is a criminal she made a choice which hopefully has barred her from being able to successfully navigate that process

They're criminals. Pretty black and white - not much left to interpretation.
You are residing here illegally as defined by our federal laws.

I updated when I read she committed identity theft.
Being here illegally a first time is not criminal though. If you want to start classifying it as a crime though you wouldn't like the results, as among other things, they would be allowed to present a criminal defense and have a right to counsel, which is exactly why SCOTUS has held that initial illegal entry is not criminal but civil. I can't think of the case off of the top of my head, but SCOTUS has also said deportation cannot be the penalty for a crime, but it can be the remedy for a civil infraction.

She was convicted of felony impersonation in 2008.
Yes,our immigration laws are a mess but this isn't a good example of why our immigration laws need to be revamped.
