I assume this is quite unusual given the economy is improving?

quote:

Voters think President Trump is ahead of most previous presidents on fulfilling campaign promises, and the most voters in more than a decade see an improving economy.  Yet that isn’t enough to put the president’s job rating in positive territory, according to a Fox News Poll released Wednesday.

In addition, a 54 percent majority disapproves of the president’s revised executive order banning citizens from six countries from traveling to the United States, and the number believing the travel ban makes the U.S. safer dropped eight points since last month and now stands at 34 percent.

Approval of Trump’s overall job performance is down five percentage points.  Currently, 43 percent of voters approve, while 51 percent disapprove.  In February it was 48-47 percent

Meanwhile, less than half of voters (47 percent) are confident the Trump administration will be able to make “significant positive change for the country.”

For comparison, at a similar point in President Obama’s first term, 63 percent approved of his job performance and a 64 percent majority had confidence he would bring positive change (February/March 2009).  A notable difference is that only a third as many Democrats (10 percent) have confidence in Trump now as Republicans had in Obama then (31 percent).

Rasmussen, too. They need to highlight that Politico/Morning Consult poll ASAP.

Nowhere in the article do they use the word "plummet."

The article uses the word "down," yet you use "plummet." Nice verb choice. You are worse than the fake news, fairy. I can understand using that word in your analysis, but you use that as if the headline or article says that. You are embarrassing.

Didn't the polls say trump would lose to Hilary?

From what I understand, much of it has to do with the healthcare bill, which polls show is disliked by people on both sides of the isle.

OTOH, when has trump have polled well, image wise? Even his supporters know he is a bit of a jackass.

2016 showed that jackassness is not a disqualifier for being president.

Actually the national polls were pretty spot on. Hillary won by the margin she was expected to nationally. The problem was those localized Midwestern state polls.

Maybe you can point to some national polls that said something different?

Don't care. Presidential polls fluctuate.

At least we don't have a racist bigot in office right now.

You may be right. The GOP has gotten themselves into a pickle with Trumpcare.

The rcp average was spot on, but there were polls put out by AP, nbc, and abc which showed her up as much as 7 points a week before the election.

If it wasn't for the LA times poll, she would have have like a 5 point average lead in the RCP.

If the Obama numbers are any indication, the public majority is terrible at identifying who will actually bring positive change.

I always find it odd when people attribute economic prosperity with a president that has just taken over office. Trump has been in office less than 2 months, and suddenly, the economy is booming because of it? Macroeconomics doesn't work like that.

It is odd. Most people just attribute it to the current president though.
